A new look for a freshly focused

video production & film event group

VCTV (Vassar College Television) is Vassar’s student-led hub for video production, filmmaking education, and film events.

Tracing its origins back to a 1986 public access television show, VCTV was due for a visual update to reflect its reinvigorated structure and priorities.

Logo Update

2015 – 2022

2022 –

The previous VCTV logo was maintained for several years, but increasingly went unused. It conveyed creativity well, but contained too many elements to scale or print well.

Also, its video-player design was tied to VCTV’s web series, which were no longer the group’s focus.

Bolder, tighter typography and simple forms allow the logo to easily integrate into a variety of environments and scales.

This new logo and bold colors reflect VCTV’s expansion into film events, educational programming, and collaborative projects.

VCTV Film Fest

VCTV started hosting film festivals in 2020 to bring filmmakers together during the pandemic.

As President of VCTV, I organized our first in-person Film Fest in fall 2022.

This called for new promotional graphics, as well as event materials including a program.
